At 10:07 PM, RFC’s water rescue team was placed on stand by at RFC while a search was being conducted in Upland Borough. Numerous Delaware County police departments and fire companies, along with the the West Water Rescue Team and drones were already in service at the scene, searching for a person in the area of Chester Creek after reports that a person was heard yelling for help. Approximately thirty minutes later, the RFC team was called to the scene, along with the rest of the Central Water Rescue Team. Lead by Deputy Chief Michael Maguire, team members Matt McCloskey, Mike Cofalka and Nate Cramer made the trip to Upland. Upon arrival, the team was immediately placed in the water and began assisting with the search. After being in service for a couple of hours, the Incident Commander released the RFC team and they returned to the firehouse just before 2 AM.
