Months ago, Chief Michael Maguire started looking into a funding source to upgrade the RFC water rescue equipment.
He reached out to Representative Lisa Borowski, and together, they started to explore grant options from the state.
Tonight, Rep. Borowski presented RFC with a check for $40,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
This money will be used to purchase an additional small boat and upgraded personal protective equipment to outfit the firefighters who were trained to make water rescues.
