Wayne, Pa. -- Radnor Fire Company was dispatched at 9:23 Monday evening during a fast-moving wind and rain storm to reports of wires and a tree on fire in the 100 block of Penn Road in the Chester County portion of Wayne.

Chief 15 and Assistant 15 were first on scene to discover wires making contact at several points with a tree at the back of a property bordered by Penn and Deepdale Roads. PECO was notified of the incident and crews were dispatched to the scene.

Engine 15-1 and a crew of Radnor firefighters arrived to find the tree burning in multiple places where it was making contact with wires.
Firefighters went door to door advising neighbors of the incident and asking them to remain indoors. Crews remained on scene until the fire went out. PECO was working to restore power to the area.
