(Wayne, PA - August 7, 2019)

Radnor Fire and EMS crews responded to 23 combined calls on Wednesday, including fast-moving water rescues on Bryn Mawr Avenue, and a two-car collision at the Radnor Train Station bridge that left a car on its roof this evening.

Between 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM, combined volunteer and career staff crews responded to nine fire calls in the township, including three water rescues as a result of the flooding from torrential rains. All drivers were accounted for and no injuries were reported. Firefighters also responded Wednesday to several accidents with injury, a fuel spill, multiple automatic alarms, a transformer on fire, and a call for reports of smoke in an apartment building on Bryn Mawr Avenue late this evening.

At 8:24 PM this evening, Radnor firefighters were dispatched to the intersection of King of Prussia and Matsonford Roads for reports of an accident with entrapment. MICU 15 and Chief 15 arrived on scene with Radnor Police to find a four-door sedan on its roof at the Radnor Train Station bridge underpass. Two occupants had self-extracted and MICU 15 reported no injuries. The car had been traveling northbound on King of Prussia Road when it left the roadway and struck the roof of a sedan traveling southbound. The other car came to a stop just south of the underpass. Radnor Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

Squad 15 and a crew of four firefighters arrived on scene and spent time helping clear the roadway of glass and debris prior to the crushed car being towed from the scene.
