WAYNE, PA - The annual blood drive in the memory of Carol H. Axelrod will be held on Thursday, October 7th from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Radnor Township Sulpizio Gym. The Township building is located at 125 S. Wayne Avenue in Wayne, PA 19087.

To schedule a donation appointment, please check out the information below for new and returning donors. To ensure short wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged!

With social distancing guidelines in place, the Red Cross is running fewer blood drives, and those that run have fewer appointment slots than usual. This will be the case for the upcoming drive and appointments slots will likely fill up very quickly. Therefore, if you are interested in making an appointment for one of our drives, you may wish to do that soon. (You can always cancel the appointment if you change your mind about donating, but the schedules for the drives are final and we will not be able to add appointment slots once these fill up.)

The new Red Cross guidelines for blood donors are outlined at the end of this message or can be viewed here. They include, but are not limited to, the use of face masks for all donors, as well as multiple temperature checks and enhanced social distancing measures. We ask you to read these guidelines before deciding whether to schedule a donation appointment.

FIRST-TIME DONORS

If you are a first-time blood donor, we encourage you to read this information about the donation process and how to prepare for your donation. Please don't hesitate to contact us at info@chablooddrive.org if you have any questions.

ALL DONORS

All donors must read informational materials and complete a health history questionnaire before donating blood. If you would like to make your donation experience faster, you can access these materials through RapidPass on the American Red Cross website before you arrive at the drive. RapidPass allows donors to complete their pre-reading and donation questions online from the comfort and privacy of their home or office. If you choose not to use RapidPass, you will be able to complete your reading and health history when you arrive at the blood drive.

If you wish to utilize RapidPass (on a mobile device or laptop/desktop computer):

1. Visit https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/manage-my-donations/rapidpass.html
2. Read the information
3. Answer the questions
4. Print, save, or email the pass so that you can display it when you arrive at the blood drive. (Please note that you MUST have your pass when you come to donate, or you will be asked to complete the questions again.)
