The Radnor Fire Company and Bryn Mawr Fire Company were dispatched at 11:16 p.m. to the 900 block of Conestoga Road in the Garrett Hill section of Radnor Township for a reported building fire.

First arriving units from Radnor and Bryn Mawr were met with fire showing from a 2nd floor apartment above businesses that also occupy the mixed use building. The initial crew of Radnor Engine 15-1 made the initial attack on the fire and was able to contain it until additional assistance arrived on the scene.

The lone occupant of the apartment was able to safely evacuate the building and was checked by Radnor EMS. Fortunately, the subject did not require transport to the hospital. Additional fire/EMS crews from Gladwyne Fire Company and Narberth Ambulance also responded to the fire.

The Radnor Township Fire Marshal investigated the cause of the fire and ruled it accidental. Radnor Fire Company units were clear of the scene by 1:30 a.m. During the incident, Berwyn Fire Company provided an Engine and Malvern Fire Company sent a Ladder truck to standby to cover the area in case any other calls needed to be handled.
