The King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company, along with the Radnor Fire Company was dispatched at 2 p.m. to the 500 block of Fletcher Road in Upper Merion Township for a reported barn fire. The location of the incident sits just outside the primary protection area that Radnor serves in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County.

First arriving units were faced with a 30' x 30' barn fully engulfed in flames. Radnor Squad 15 arrived on location and went right to work to extinguish the fire. Deputy Chief Joseph Maguire led the crews from Radnor during the firefighting effort.

The initial response of Radnor, King of Prussia and Berwyn firefighters prevented the fire to spreading to a nearby structure on the property. It took less than an hour to bring the fire under control.

Radnor Squad 15 cleared the scene just after 6 p.m. The Upper Merion Township Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. There was no reported firefighter or civilian injuries.

Fire/EMS personnel from Berwyn, Swedeland, Swedesburg, Bridgeport, Norristown and Lafayette Ambulance & Rescue Squad also assisted at this incident.
