Right before noon on Monday, August 5th, RFC was dispatched to assist Berwyn Fire Company at the Stonegate of Devon Apartment complex for a building fire. The caller reported smoke coming from an apartment.

Units arrived and found smoke pushing out of the sliding doors from a second floor apartment. Crews entered the building with an 1 3/4" hand line and encountered heavy smoke in the hallway. The turn was made into the apartment where an active fire was located in the laundry closet and crews made a quick knock of the fire. Ventilation and overhaul were then performed and RFC was release from the scene in about an hour.
