A little after 9 AM on Saturday, Radnor Fire Company was dispatched for an accident with entrapment at Matsonford and County Line Roads. Two people were struck by a rail construction vehicle, with one trapped underneath.
Chief 15 requested the Delaware County Technical Rescue Team, the Manoa Fire Company with their heavy rescue equipment and the Montgomery County USAR Team.
Upon arrival, one person was located under the station platform and the other person trapped under the rail vehicle.
A crane was requested from SEPTA in case the vehicle had to be lifted off the tracks.
Rescue equipment was carried down to the tracks where the extrication was begun.
Using rescue tools from the fire companies. the wheel was lifted off of the victim and he was extricated.
Narberth EMS transported the person from under the platform and Radnor MICU 15 transported the person who was trapped.
Thank you to our assisting departments for a successful extrication.
