A little before 4 PM on Sunday, September 10th, Radnor Fire Company and Broomall Fire Company were dispatched to the area of mile marker 12 southbound for a vehicle fire.
Fireboard reported several callers stating there was fire showing from under the hood.
Chief and Assistant 15 arrived on location at mile marker 12.2 with fire showing from the engine and passenger compartment, on the right shoulder.
Squad 15 arrived and the front 1 3/4" line was pulled and extinguishment started.
Engine 15 arrived and deployed the booster line.
Broomall arrived on location and Fireboard advised Chief 15 that there was another reported vehicle fire further south of this incident location.
Chief 15 released Broomall from the scene to respond to the other call, which was unfounded.
The fire was extinguished without incident and the scene was turned over to PSP.
RFC cleared within forty-five minutes and returned to the firehouse to clean and place the apparatus back in service.
