Radnor Fire Company, along with assisting fire companies, was dispatched to Waynewood Avenue for a building fire a little after 1AM on Sunday morning, April 2nd.
Immediately after dispatch, the address was changed to a house on Louella Court and additional information reported entrapment. Chief 15 arrived and found a fire in an apartment on the first floor. A working fire dispatch was requested which brought additional units to the scene.
The Quint crew arrived and entered the apartment where they found an unconscious male inside. The victim was removed and placed into MICU 15 which transported the male to Bryn Mawr Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Crews extinguished the fire and then overhauled the scene.
Fire Marshals from Radnor Township, Delaware County CID and Pennsylvania State Police were notified and responded to the scene for the investigation along with Radnor PD.
RFC remained on location to assist the fire marshals.
Fire and EMS crews returned to the firehouse a little after 4 AM to clean and replace equipment on the apparatus.
