At 8:41 AM on Friday, January 20th, Radnor Fire Company was dispatched to an automatic fire alarm at a private residence on Ithan Woods Lane.
Engine 15 responded and arrived within minutes, with nothing showing from the exterior.
Crews met the resident at the front door, entered the house and encountered a smoke condition on the first floor. A quick search revealed a fire in the kitchen.
Lieutenant 15 upgraded the assignment to a building fire which brought additional apparatus from Radnor and Berwyn Fire Companies.
The engine crew stretched an 1 3/4" line through the front door and knocked down the visible fire. As additional crews arrived, they assisted with securing utilities, overhaul and ventilation.
No firefighter injuries but the resident received minor injuries which were treated on the scene.
Firefighters cleared the scene in a little over an hour.
