On July 7th at 11:30 PM, Radnor Fire Company, along with an engine from Berwyn Fire Company, was dispatched to Pennsylvania Avenue for a reported house fire. The caller could see flames but was unsure of the exact address.
Radnor PD arrived in the area and reported that the fire appeared to be on Louella Court not on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Chief 15 arrived on Louella Court and was flagged down by neighbors who pointed out the house involved.
Fire was extending up an exterior wall from the ground to the second floor roof line.
Quint 15 arrived on location and the crew stretched an 1 3/4" line down the driveway and started to knock down the fire.
Engine 15 laid a 5" line from the hydrant to the Quint.
The crew from Berwyn was directed to take a second 1 3/4" line inside to check for extension.
Chief 15 requested a working fire dispatch which brought Montgomery County Ladder 23 (Bryn Mawr), Ladder 24 (Gladwyne) and Air 24 (Gladwyne) to the scene.
Crews remained on location until just before 2 AM.
After returning to station and putting the apparatus in service, crews were released by 3 AM.
Thanks to Manoa and Brookline Fire Companies for standing by at RFC during the incident.
