Radnor Fire Company Responds to 30 Calls During Recent Two-Day Rain, Wind Storm |

Wayne, Pa. -- Radnor Fire Company (RFC) reported today that volunteers responded to a total of 30 calls for service over a recent two-day rain, wind storm affecting the area. Between the evening of October 31 and the morning of November 1, Radnor Fire Company volunteers handled 26 calls in Radnor Township, 3 calls in Tredyffrin Township and 1 call in Newtown Township. During the height of the storm in the middle of the night, 15 RFC volunteers were in service responding to multiple, simultaneous calls for downed wires, arcing wires and poles, automatic fire alarms, trees into houses, gas leaks and motor vehicle crashes. Radnor Fire Company also reported today that during the month of October, fire fighters responded to 85 calls for service. Sixty-six calls were in Radnor Township, 10 in Tredyffrin Township, and 9 in other neighboring townships. During the same period, Radnor EMS crews responded to 176 calls. Radnor Fire Company personnel put in 280 hours of training and 63 hours in fire schools during the month of October. # # # |
