House Fire in Villanova

The Radnor Fire Company was dispatched to a reported dwelling fire on Hilldale Road in the Villanova section of Radnor Township at 8:23 p.m. While enroute, Chief Michael Maguire was informed that Radnor Police officers on location were reporting heavy smoke coming from the home. Chief Maguire upgraded the response to a working dwelling fire, which called for several mutual aid companies to respond to the scene.

Numerous fire companies, including Berwyn, Gladwyne and Bryn Mawr Fire Companies responded for the assist. The fire was declared under control within an hour, however, firefighters remained on location for an additional two hours in order to overhaul and extinguish hot spots throughout the house which sustained extensive damage.

There were no citizen or firefighter injuries reported. The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Radnor Township Fire Marshal.
