Radnor Fire Company Responds Monday To Early Morning, Late Evening Car Accidents In Wayne

Radnor Fire Company responded to two separate car accidents in Wayne on Monday, both which involved single vehicles leaving the roadway and crashing into objects on sidewalks bordering the roadways.

In the first incident, MICU 15A, Rescue 15 and Squad 15 were dispatched to 407 E. Lancaster Avenue at 8:08 a.m. Monday to reports of an accident with entrapment. MICU 15A was first on scene with Radnor Police in the west bound lanes of Lancaster Avenue in front of the American Legion in Wayne. Responders found the driver of a white sedan had left the roadway and crashed into a park bench before traveling up the lawn embankment. Radnor ambulance crews removed the driver who required transport. Radnor firefighters helped clear the scene of debris and dealt with minor anti-freeze and gas spills.

At 10:12 p.m. Monday, MICU 15A, Chief 15,Squad 15 and Engine 15-1 were dispatched to the intersection of Conestoga Road and West Wayne Avenue to reports of an accident with injury. Radnor Police and MICU 15A were first on scene to find a vehicle on its side after having struck both a traffic pole and a utility pole. The car had been traveling west-bound on Conestoga Road when the driver apparently lost control and left the roadway. Radnor ambulance crews removed the driver from the vehicle prior to providing care and transport. PECO was notified of the damaged utility pole and low-hanging wires.
