For the fourth time in as many months, Radnor firefighters responded this morning when another truck slammed into the Radnor Station Bridge on King of Prussia Road in Radnor. Chief 15 and Squad 15 responded and firefighters helped contain leaking fluid from the truck.

The moving truck was traveling south on King of Prussia Road at approximately 8:20 a.m. when the driver struck the bridge which services both Amtrak and SEPTA trains. Neither the driver or passenger were hurt in the incident. Traffic was closed in both directions on King of Prussia Road. Amtrak and SEPTA traffic were temporarily slowed by the accident.

The truck hit the I-beam which serves to protect the train bridge and tracks, however, the I-beam has sustained damage with the number of trucks hitting the bridge in recent years. According to Radnor Police, the bridge has been hit 40 times since 2008. This incident is the 41st, with the most recent incidents occurring on December 21, November 16 and December 4.

Two heavy tow trucks worked to upright and remove the truck from under the bridge. Squad 15 cleared from the scene at 9:20 a.m. to respond to a vehicle accident on I-476 northbound.
