More than 15 Radnor Firefighters assisted Berwyn Fire Company with a mid-day fire today at the SEPTA Devon Train Station on N. Devon Blvd., in Easttown Township. First arriving units encountered smoke and fire showing from the westbound platform overhang roof. Firefighters also discovered a portion of the roof covering that had dislodged blocking one of the railways.

All Westbound Amtrak/SEPTA lines were shut down due to the fire & eastbound lines were asked to slow down. The fire was placed under control and the tracks cleared by 12:54 p.m. Firefighters from Paoli Fire Company, Newtown Square Fire Company and Easttown Township Police Department also provided assistance.

The cause of the fire was ruled accidental with damage limited to the westbound platform area. Per standard protocol, the fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office and the SEPTA Fire Marshal.

Radnor Fire Company Volunteers and staff have responded to 9 fire/EMS incidents since 5:30 a.m. this morning.
