Radnor firefighters responded Thursday morning when another truck struck the KOP Road Bridge at Radnor Station. Engine 15 was first on scene and firefighters helped extract the driver from the cab of his truck after he struck the I-beam, sustaining significant damage to the body of the truck as it firmly wedged underneath the bridge. The driver appeared to be unharmed. Rescue 15 firefighters also provided assistance.

The truck was heading north on King of Prussia Road at approximately 9 a.m. when the driver struck the bridge which services both Amtrak and SEPTA trains. Police on scene reported the driver's regular route is King of Prussia Road but he was driving a different truck on Thursday and was not aware the truck was higher than the bridge's marked clearance height. Amtrak and SEPTA traffic were slowed by the accident.

According to Radnor Police, the bridge has been hit 39 times since 2008. This incident is the 40th, with the most recent incidents occurring on November 16 and December 4.

Engine 15 and Rescue 15 were cleared from the scene by 10:15 a.m. As of 11 a.m., King of Prussia road remained closed as crews worked to remove the truck. Police are investigating.
